Dr. Nikki Coleman Set to Play Dr. Taylor in Feature Film, "My Father The Queen"

CYPRESS, TX., — PrettyWork Studios announced today that licensed psychologist, Dr. Nikki Coleman will play the role of “Dr. Taylor” in their upcoming feature film, “My Father The Queen.” The announcement was made today by PrettyWork Studios president, and the film’s writer and director, Lisa N. Alexander.

The pair worked together on a previous project and according to Alexander, “Dr. Nikki was an excellent choice for the role.” Alexander continued, “She was convincing, thoughtful, and very comfortable in front of the camera; I knew she would bring that same energy and professionalism to the film.”

According to her website, Dr. Nikki received her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the APA-accredited top-ranked program at the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2002. She was a professor of Counseling Psychology for over 15 years and a tenured professor for over seven years. Dr. Nikki has peer-reviewed published pieces focused on identity and cultural factors impacting young Black adults.

“Dr. Nikki will bring authenticity and realism to all of our client-patient scenes,” said Alexander. “Having those interactions be as close to the real thing was important to me as a writer,” she stated.

The film is currently in preproduction and currently crowdfunding and anticipates a release in 2024.
